THE BEST TECHNIQUE FOR LEAVING AVON BROCHURES

...and how to track your Avon marketing so it works for you!

Marketing in 2018 for any business has taken on a new look. This post will help you keep up with the changes in trend marketing, interactive marketing, and how being emotionally intelligent is almost more important than being smart. The growing trend in the coming year is work from home and remote career opportunities. Avon and businesses like Avon will be able to gain a following of people who are ready to stop punching the clock. Neil Patel is an awesome entrepreneur to follow in 2018.  I've learned a lot from him about marketing as an entrepreneur in 2018. Read this post until the end for a sales technique that successful Avon reps won't tell you and what many haven't realized yet.

Create 2 lists of businesses that you dedicate to dropping off an Avon brochure to. You'll be working with LIST #1 only at first.

STEP ONE

Start creating a relationship by dropping off a brochure to each business for one campaign. On the second campaign, leave a brochure with samples and ask if any of them would like to join your email database. During the 3rd campaign, leave a brochure, samples, and a hand lotion for the office bathroom or front desk. It's important that you track your responses from these clients before continuing to leave brochures.

Here are a few suggestions on how to create List #1 and List #2.

1.) Banks and Credit Unions - Bank tellers have very strict dress codes. They MUST look presentable to the public and buying AVON products are perfect. This group of customers are usually very close. If one person wants to buy from your brochure, chances are high that his/her coworkers will want to buy AVON as well! Leave your AVON brochure here. I suggest advertising that you accept paypal. In some offices, a money exchange would be discouraged. This way you can drop off their goodies and no money has to change hands.

2.) Daycares - While daycare workers are one of the hardest working in the industry, when they have down time, flipping through your AVON books will be a welcome de-stress from their hectic days. This group of customers is also very close knit. The only way you won't achieve sales here is if someone else has already drawn their AVON lines in the sand. If one customer makes a purchase, another will definitely buy AVON from you as well.

3.) Law Offices - Here is another group of people who not only dress professionally but very often they are too busy to shop, which is where you come in! The person you will typically drop off the brochure with will be the receptionist. If you make a good impression on him/her, it will be a lasting account for you! Smile, be warm, discreet, and quick. If you hold a conversation too long, that might discourage them from giving you a reason to come back!

4.) Strip Malls - View strip malls as an opportunity to reach a few potential customers in a short period of time. I would consider placing a free sample in each brochure bag. Each store will have at least one person who will want to take your sample home and use it!

Update: Utilize social media in your marketing. Give your business clients your IG, or FB information on your brochure and ask them to follow you.

5.) Hotels - The employee count of one hotel front desk staff is usually between 6-12 employees. If you leave 1-2 books at the front desk, in between check-ins and check-outs, they will be able to browse your magazine store. When shift changes, the next crew and management will be able to have a look. Most upper management leave by 5 PM, keep that in mind. Are you starting to think more about businesses who have down time? We're on the same page if you are!

This is just a quick kick-starter for you. Although I mentioned 5 types of businesses, they can really add up to over 30 places to get AVON sales depending on where you live. This is one of the easiest places I've found to do what I call....walk-in, walk-out marketing.

STEP TWO

Once you've left a brochure at least 3 times at your set list of offices, stop leaving it for the next 2-3 campaigns. Patience is a virtue here.

Take your original list of places and begin answering these questions about your original marketing list of clients:

-Have any of those clients ordered from you?
-Have any of those clients asked questions about your sales?
-Has anyone mentioned that they used to sell Avon?
-Has anyone asked you how long you've been selling Avon?
-How many of these clients have followed you on your listed social media?
......and you can add your own tracking questions but these are a good start.

Based on your answers, you'll begin to know who trusts you to shop from your AVON estore and who you can continue to mail an Avon brochure to. If you have a few sales in an office continue to mail brochures to that business while encouraging them to shop your AVON estore. Drop off samples at your leisure now but you will not have to drop off brochures any longer.

Move on to your second list and repeat steps one and two. This is how to maximize your time, foster personal relationships, grow your email database, and gain new followers, and potential sales leaders.

TIPS FOR PEOPLE WHO HATE SELLING

Honestly, I never started out in this world thinking "Hey, I want to be in sales!!" For most of us, we kinda just fell into it and realized we were good at it. Here are some strategic ways to get out of sales shyness. Then read Techniques For Dropping Off Your Avon brochures.

1.) Connect with 10 people a day on social media. Leave a comment, be genuine, and by the end of 1 month, you will have connected with over 300 people. (On your off days or free time, you'll probably leave more.) By the end of one year, you will have shared your business with 3600+ people.

Update: Think about the target audience you have or your niche. Is it Mom's? MUA's? Stylists? Unemployed people? Search medium popularity hashtags that appeal to your niche and share! (Sharing with someone more than once is great if that happens.)

2.) Advertise silently.Wear a pin, t-shirt, scarf, or invest in a car decal or magnet. It gets tiring having to always make the "first move". When you let people come to you, it helps increase your confidence in selling. The other day, I was flagged down in the gas station parking lot because someone saw my car decal and wanted a business card.

3.) Share everything equally across all of your social media networks. This is the easiest thing for people who hate selling. When I see my friends sharing their own interesting thoughts, opinions, reviews, or funny info on social media, I always think to myself.....this person needs their own website. Build your online presence. Even when no one is liking or commenting, it still matters.

Update: Use the Avon social media platform to schedule posts in advance.

4.) Don't solicit your friends and family after they aren't interested the first time. In the business world, it's very true that we support celebrities before we support our friends and their business endeavors. No one will believe in you like YOU. No matter what, DO NOT GIVE UP. When your family and friends get a whiff of your small successes, they will begin asking questions and being one of your biggest supporters.

Update: I still send friends and family free samples, with or without their support.

5.) Ask for reviews when you've given exceptional customer service.

Getting reviews are the autopilot marketing for your business. If you're giving your card or AVON brochure to 3 people a day, you WILL get sales. Make good use of the people who work with you, buy from you, and invest in you. Offer them a discount for leaving you a review and make it easy for them to find the sources that you want those reviews. Facebook, Yellow Pages, and Google are my suggestions for acquiring great reviews.

Update: Getting clients to leave a review is still tough even when you're providing an incentive. I suggest for this one, just get your friends and family involved...even if you have to grab their phone and leave the Google review yourself. :)
